Be Careful Who You Listen To
God's Word over and over tells us to be careful who you listen to that there are men is sheep's clothing that look like the real thing but are not. We have to remember not to add or take away from the words of Scripture. God's Word must delivered using the context of the whole of Scripture Old and New Testament. Remember always that Satan makes things look inviting that is why that many are found on the broad road and only a few are on the narrow road. Stay true to Scripture and God will direct your way and light your path.

Matt 7: 21 following talks about many people will say to Jesus, Lord Lord did we not prophsey in your name, and do good works in your name (my version). Jesus will say depart from me I never knew you. What a sobering thought. Then Jesus goes into the parable of the man who built his house on the sand and the man who built his house on the rock. The man who built his house on the sand did it with no thought of the longivity of it. People that don't have a relationship with Jesus and don't obey His Word have built their house on the sand and when the troubles of this world come they crumble begin trusting in man rather than the Lord. The man who built his house on the rock has Christ he can rely on and trusts in. Prov 3:5,6 say "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and LEAN not into your own understanding. In all your ways acknowlege him and He will direct your paths.

Only 4 days until we celebrate the the birth of Christ. We all know that Christ was not born this time of year, but it is the time of year that we stop to remeber how He was born and why He was born. God foretold of His birth in the Old Testament, told where He would be born, and why He came. Ever since the beginning of time God has wanted a relationship with man and that we would Glorify Him. God came to earth in the form of Jesus so that he could solidify this relationship.

Today in Sunday School and church we were reminded how depraved we are and how we need a relationship with Christ. This is treaded all the way thru the Scripture starting in Gen. thru Rev. Our salvation depends us recognizing that we are sinners in need of a Saviour, and when we recognize this we must act upon it and give our lives to the Lord. From there we must read His Word and be obedient. We cannot receive the Blessings of the Lord until we are obedient. Just as Abraham could not have a son until he obeyed the Lord. God told him to do two things. Leave the land were he was living, and to leave all his family there. He left the land but took his father and nephew with him. It was not until that his father died and Lot left him that he was in complete obedience with what the Lord had told him to do. Only then was the Lord able to bless him an Issac was born.

Matt 7:13, 14. These scriptures deal with the narrow way and the broad way. They say that narrow is the way that leads to life and broad is the way that leads to destruction. We have been reading The Gospel According to Jesus by John MacArthur. He made a statement today that describes really explains what the broad road is. "Satan is a master at religious deception. He disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). He paints his gate so that it looks like the door to heaven, and many are those who enter by it"
When you enter the narrow gate you cannot bring anything with you, you cannot add Jesus on to whatever you beleive you must come thru the gate with nothing. God's Word says that when you enter and are saved that old things have passed away and that all things become new. You must have a transformed life.
Those that come thru the narrow gate are only a rement of God's people. We must let our light shine before men so they will see our good works and glorify God who is in Heaven.
Today was beautiful. Lots of sun and NO RAIN!

Jim and I was discussing the rapture and when and where the marrige supper of the Lamb would take place. I had always thought that the marrige supper would take place in heaven while the tribulation was going on. But upon further study I have come to the realization that it must take place here on earth during the 1000 year reign of Christ. If you take the scriptures that are in Matt 25 where it says that there will be those that show up without the proper garments and they will be ushered out. God tells us to study and we might not be ashamed before Him. We must all study God's Word to know what He says.

1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
Judgement day, will reveal with what attitude we lived our lives. God's Word says that we are His workmanship unto good works. It also states the if we do good works that others will see and glorify our Father in heaven. It also says that you will know them by their works. We don't work to be saved or keep our salvation it is a result of our salvation. That is why we must profess that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives.
Today is still cool, 51 degrees and raining. Suppose to stop by Friday! Yeh

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The Bible verse for today was about that we as believers are not under condemnation. What a great promise. Jesus died for our sins, the Holy Spirit is the one who gives us the assurance of our salvation. John 3:16 is a verse we all know and can quote but verse 17 says that Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to save it. It goes on to say that if you do not believe in the Son of God that you are condemned already that men love darkness rather than light.
Today was cloudy and rainy and it did get to 50 degrees. We are looking at moving to Benson, AZ maybe for the rest of the winter.
